Global Gas Market Intelligence
EU gas storage and LNG supply routes are the primary drivers of European gas price direction. Norwegian pipeline nominations, French nuclear availability, and ACER LNG assessments provide the supporting context that connects global supply dynamics to UK NBP pricing.

Why this matters for UK gas prices: The Strait of Hormuz is the world's most critical LNG chokepoint. Qatar — the UK's largest LNG supplier — ships all of its exports through this 33km-wide passage. Disruption to LNG transits, or a build-up of vessels holding position outside the Strait, can be an early indicator of supply-side pressure on UK NBP gas prices.
Norway is the UK's largest pipeline gas supplier, delivering via Langeled (Easington) and FLAGS/SEAL (St Fergus). Current gas-day exit nominations from Gassco FLOW, combined with active UMM supply constraints and upcoming maintenance, are the most direct leading indicator of UK pipeline supply risk.
