Market Intelligence

Independent market intelligence built for procurement decisions

Energy Price Intelligence helps organisations understand not only where wholesale markets traded, but whether current prices appear to represent value.

Through EPI Studio™, EPI combines traded market data, EPI Fair Value™, forward-curve analysis, market drivers and procurement signals into clear, commercially relevant intelligence.

Most market intelligence tells you what prices did yesterday. EPI provides an independent assessment of what we believe the market may be worth — helping organisations make more informed procurement decisions.

Current coverage includes UK gas and power, alongside selected European market indicators. Additional Irish capability is being developed and introduced where supported by reliable market data.

EPI Fair Value™

An independent view of market value

EPI Fair Value™ is Energy Price Intelligence's independent assessment of where selected wholesale gas and power contracts may reasonably be expected to trade based on market fundamentals, scenario analysis and commercial judgement.

01

Define Scenarios

We construct bull, base and bear price scenarios for the period in question, each grounded in a coherent set of fundamental assumptions about supply, demand, storage and weather.

02

Assess Probabilities

Each scenario is assessed based on current market conditions, historical precedent and the distribution of plausible outcomes — using the independent analytical framework used to calculate EPI Fair Value™.

03

Calculate Fair Value

The scenario prices are combined to produce a single EPI Fair Value™ — the expected price given the full distribution of outcomes.

04

Apply to Procurement

EPI Fair Value™ is compared to current market prices to assess whether fixed prices represent fair value, and to inform the timing and structure of flexible procurement decisions.

EPI Fair Value™ is not a price forecast. It is a decision-support framework — designed to help procurement professionals buy energy with analytical rigour rather than intuition.
